Online training course on accessible technology design
on by Bart SimonsThe European Accessibility Resource Centre (AccessibleEU) launches the 4th edition of an online training course on Accessible Technology Design. The courses can be completed at your own pace between Monday 25 May and 31 October 2026.
Students will learn about the foundations of universal accessibility in digital environments and gain the knowledge to design for all from the start. They will also understand accessibility and inclusive design as essential goals, grasp the key principles of Universal Design, and distinguish between legal requirements and technical standards, including current European legislation. The course also explores why a single, well-designed solution is better than multiple alternatives and introduces the principles of cognitive accessibility and their crucial role in creating truly inclusive experiences.
It consists of the following 7 modules:
- Accessibility and Inclusive Design;
- ICT Accessibility Laws and Standards;
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG);
- Digital Accessibility Myths;
- Avoiding Non-Inclusive Design Patterns;
- Creating Inclusive Designs;
- Cognitive Accessibility.
